Altima Hybrid - Ask Questions

We just picked up a 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid to drive, evaluate, and review....photo gallery.

Here's the thing:

  • I can easily do a review by myself, with a few of my close collaborators, better known as the "Strada Crew".
  • I'd like to try something different, and need your help!

Had a rental Altima hybrid for a week. Remember it as comfortable, having adequate power but disappointing fuel economy.

Of course hybrids are about fuel economy. Mfrs who thing otherwise (eg Accord hybrid) are doomed to low sales.

I agree that its fuel economy that initially drives the sale of hybrids, and you have a point with Honda. Perhaps its just me, I find the electric aspect, the ability to go in EV mode more interesting that the fuel economy.

And we'll get there. Extended ability to operate in EV mode and a plug-in capability for recharging seem to be the way hybrid technology is heading. These cars will drive like electrics most of the time but we're not there yet.
