Vro9m Ro9m

Good Morning!

2010 Jaguar XJWelcome to the Vroom Room, we have caffe latte and biscotti, make yourself comfortable.

We are reviewing a Kia Soul, if you want to participate....yes it would be fun to get your input just go here.

Where is summer hiding this year? If you know please tell us.

Most auto enthusiast have an interest in automotive design and designers, make it a point to visit Dean's Garage its a cool place with exceptional design nostalgia.

A good read on the latest activites of Dr.Z....take a look.

Its refreshing to see Jaguar have a compelling, and sensuous XJ.

It seems that Bob Lutz is not retiring from GM as originally planned, he will stay on. The cool thing is that he is 77 and proves that these days age is not an issue.

It also seems that GM will announce its exit out of bankruptcy later today...that was fast!

More XJ

Summer is hiding in Phoenix, where it is slated to reach 114*F by this Sunday. Let us hope the humidity remains below 10% lest I should perish. I'm trapped in a catch 22, here. I still don't have the AC installed in my daily driver GVR4, but it's far too hot to spend the time taking the front end all apart to install it. (I might have to pull an all nighter before too long so I can do the job in 90* weather.)

Thanks for the tip on Dean's Garage. There's a lot of GM content, but he's been freelancing over 20yrs at this point and he's right, what young boy *didn't* want to be a car designer when he grew up? To this day, I am still a whore for varied line weights and solid Gestalt. Never did anything with it and today my desire is more to build that non-existent car more so than to draw it out.

Finally, the new XJ is delicious. I love it. Painted D-pillars and Cutlass-esque tails be damned, I love the new language they're applying to the front ends and this is the first "fastback saloon" I've seen that I think does it right. (Sorry München.) And that interior! Get the darkest tint you can, opt for the turbo diesel model, and embark upon your endless summer on the road. What a car.

Brian,

Thanks for telling me where summer is hiding, although I had a feeling it was south of here.

I discovered Gary Smith through http://stradaautostore.squarespace.com/dialogue2008/2009/4/4/petes-corvette.html he did the paint scheme on the car at the time. I'm of an age where I went to Motorama's as a kid. Imagine that GM could have their own "consumer show" 50 years ago.

IMHO Jaguars should always be sensuous, this new XJ re awakens sensuality.
